Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome! I’m thrilled to launch my new website, and to connect with you.

Here on my blog, I’ll be offering resources and advice to help you create a life you love and feel passionately about.

I’m assuming since you’ve made it this far you already know who I am and what I’m all about, but you still may have some questions.

I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked ones below.

If you have a question that’s not addressed here, please feel free to reach out!

What is a Life Coach?

A Life Coach is someone who is qualified to support, encourage, challenge and motivate you to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

In this case, my role is to help you figure out how to improve your relationships, which will mean something different to each of my clients.

It could mean you really want to find the “right” guy, or you just want to work on yourself so that when he comes along you are ready.  Maybe you want to figure out why you keep repeating the same patterns that make you unhappy.  Maybe you want to improve the relationship you’re already in or you want to get out of your current relationship.

Regardless of where you are and where you want to be, my role is the same:

I will listen to you, picking up on what you are saying and what you are NOT saying.

I will challenge you to examine your thoughts and help you change the ones that aren’t serving you.

I will help you identify your goals, take action that moves you towards those goals, and make sure you stay motivated.

I will assist you in overcoming obstacles, support and encourage you along the way and celebrate your successes with you.

What are the Benefits of Life Coaching?

Life Coaching works because it focuses you on exactly what you want to achieve and gets you there faster than if you were just figuring things out on your own.

It’s always easier to see things from the outside looking in and a Life Coach can help you look at things differently than you ever did before.

A good coach will not give you the answers, but will know how to ask the right questions to help you find them yourself.

The benefits of Life Coaching are having someone that is solely dedicated to you and the achievement of your goals. They are non-judgmental, supportive, encouraging and motivating. They keep you focused on where you want to be and moving forward in the right direction. They will enable you to get to where you want to be in life, much faster than you could on your own.

What is the Difference Between Relationship Coaching and Marriage Counseling?

Coaching and counseling are similar in that both ask questions that require some soul-searching. Neither a counselor nor a coach will give advice, but they will listen to what you say and direct the conversation with further questions.

In very simplistic terms, typical counseling session deal with emotions and issues in the past affecting the present, whereas coaching is focused more on the future and how to achieve greater happiness moving forward.

That is not to say we won’t be talking about your emotions or your past.  It would be impossible not to.  But our focus is on moving forward from the past rather than staying stuck there.

We are not focused on the reasons you felt, thought and behaved the way you did in the past.  We are focused on how you will feel, think and behave from this point forward.

Coaching is based on the premise that no matter what happened in the past, you can make it better and learn to love, respect, and appreciate yourself and others.

What Can Life Coaching Do For Me?

Working with me can help you get what you want and deserve from a relationship and be able to walk away when you aren’t getting it.

It can help you to love yourself and your life regardless of your relationship status.

Working with me can help you learn to express your thoughts, feelings and opinions without fear of rejection.

It can help you stop being so jealous, needy, desperate, sad, lonely, discouraged, insecure, confused, etc…

Working with me can help you to end unnecessary emotional suffering.

It can help you find peace in your life, be more successful in your relationships, and move forward from whatever is holding you back.

Working with me can allow you to wait patiently for the “right one” instead of desperately clinging to anyone.

Working with me can help you finally feel “good enough” no matter what.

In short?  Life Coaching is an incredibly powerful resource that can do whatever you want it to, if YOU are willing to put in the work.

Do you Coach Couples Together?

No.  My work focuses on you as an individual, in the context of relationships.  I am a firm believer that once you learn to love and like yourself, everything else falls into place.  That is where my focus is.

I can still help you to improve your relationship, if that is what you are looking for, but our work will be about YOU and how you choose to show up in that relationship.

What Makes You Qualified to be a Relationship Coach?

I realize telling you show shitty some of my past relationships were does not make me sound like a relationship expert and honestly, I’m not.  But life has thrown a lot at me and I have learned from all of it.  I want to pass everything I’ve learned on to you.

I also have formal training too – I became a Certified Life Coach in 2016 after an intense year of training under Cheryl Bartlett, an amazing woman who has studied with top world leaders in the Science of Success, including Tony Robbins.

In 2018, I wrapped up another year of training with an incredible Life Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Internationally Published Author, Tim Brownson.

My training is always ongoing, and I am always learning new techniques to help get you where you want to be.

I have been writing, coaching and teaching about relationships for several years now.  In early 2018, I published my first book, Ten Secrets to Having the Love You Want, which you can get a copy of for FREE by clicking HERE.

How Many Coaching Sessions Do I Need?

This depends on what you want to achieve with your coaching. Most people come to a Life Coach with a life changing goal in mind. In order to achieve this goal, we look at smaller goals that need to be achieved each session to move you closer to your overall goal. For some people this may take as little as 6 sessions and for others it will be more. It is a very personal decision based on your individual goals.

My smallest coaching package starts at three sessions, but I usually recommend at least 5-10.  This gives you plenty of time to put new plans into action and see what obstacles come up for you.  Plus, the longer we work together, the more likely your changes are to be solid and permanent.
